Drawing Challenges
For this project, we had to do drawing challenges. Part 1 was to draw on an object, and then Part 2 was to select four additional works to create using different combinations made from lists of materials, processes, and themes. My first piece was an elephant made from paper, paint, and marbles. I cut out a shape of an elephant, which is one of my favorite animals. When I was in preschool, I learned a painting technique where I take marbles and dip them in paint, then I take a box and put the marbles in the box so they can roll around and spread the paint. So I taped my elephant cutout in the box and rolled the marbles around so that different colors of paint could create some cool effects on the paper. I loved how it turned out because it had a "Jackson Pollock" look to it. My next piece involved a large glass candleholder that I purchased at Michaels along with tissue paper, glue, and glitter.
